Biography
Prof. Popovich received his BS in Chemical Engineering in 1939 and MS in Mechanical Engineering in 1941 from ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ State College. He was an assistant professor in Mechanical Engineering beginning in 1945 and was elected chairman of the department in 1949.
He served in that position until 1954, when he was appointed assistant dean of engineering. In 1959, he was appointed Dean of Administration, a title later changed to Vice-President. He held that position until his retirement in 1979. He was elected a Fellow of ASME in 1968. He was recognized as a Distinguished Alumnus by the College of Engineering in 1995.
